Why Couples Seek Therapy
At some point, all couples struggle. Miscommunication, disconnection, conflict, or loss of intimacy can leave you feeling more like roommates than partners.
Couples therapy provides a safe and supportive space to slow down, truly hear each other, and repair patterns that keep you stuck. At Balanced Awakening, we believe that therapy isn’t just about “fixing problems” — it’s about creating a thriving relationship where both partners feel seen, valued, and supported.
Our Approach at Balanced Awakening
What makes our practice unique is that our therapists are deeply trained in relationship-focused methods, including Imago Relationship Therapy. This framework helps partners uncover the deeper needs and patterns beneath surface conflicts, transforming everyday arguments into pathways to healing and growth.
Our therapists know how to hold space for the tender, often vulnerable parts of your relationship. Together, you’ll learn practical skills for communicating more openly, resolving conflict with compassion, and rekindling intimacy. Whether you’re dating, married, or somewhere in between, couples therapy at Balanced Awakening helps you strengthen your bond and move forward with clarity and love.

Couples Therapy FAQs
-
Couples therapy is a guided process where both partners learn to slow down, really hear each other, and reconnect. At Balanced Awakening, we see therapy not just as a way to resolve conflict, but as an opportunity to deepen intimacy, strengthen communication, and create a thriving partnership.
-
Couples therapy can help with communication breakdowns, conflict resolution, intimacy concerns, parenting stress, financial disagreements, trust repair after infidelity, navigating life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected. Many couples also come proactively to strengthen their relationship before issues escalate.
-
Every couple is different. Some benefit from a few months of weekly sessions to build new skills, while others engage longer-term to heal deeper wounds or rebuild trust. Some couples return for occasional “booster” sessions after completing a round of therapy to maintain growth.
-
In each session, your therapist creates a safe and supportive space for both partners to share openly. You’ll practice communication tools, explore underlying patterns, and work together on real issues in the moment. Many of our therapists use Imago Relationship Therapy, a powerful approach that transforms conflict into connection.
-
If you feel stuck in the same arguments, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward, therapy can help. Even if your relationship isn’t in crisis, therapy can build stronger foundations for communication, intimacy, and shared vision.
-
