Is life feeling heavy, complicated, or just… a lot?

You might already understand your patterns. You’ve reflected, done the work, and can name where things come from—but something still isn’t shifting. Maybe you’re navigating a complicated relationship with a parent or an adult child, trying to manage ADHD and follow-through, or holding the layered experience of an interracial or multicultural identity. You know yourself in many ways… but you’re ready for real change. That’s where we begin.

I work with adults and couples who are ready to move beyond insight and into meaningful, lasting transformation. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, and I’m especially passionate about supporting clients navigating complex and nuanced issues related to identity, culture, and relationships. My style is direct, assertive, and action-oriented. I won’t just sit back and process with you—I’ll challenge you, support you, and help you stay accountable to the lifestyle you envision. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and create a clear, intentional path forward. Whether we’re building structure around executive functioning, developing tools for ADHD, or working through relational dynamics, our work will focus not just on understanding—but on doing something different.

Clients often come to me because they’re ready to be challenged. This work can feel uncomfortable at times—and that’s often where the most meaningful growth happens. You won’t be doing it alone. I’ll be there to guide, support, and help you stay focused on the changes that matter most to you. If you’re ready for therapy that goes beyond insight and helps you actually move forward, I’d love to connect. Reach out to schedule a consultation and see if we’re a good fit.

Somatic interventions & dance/movement therapy

I believe real change happens when both the mind and body are involved. I blend Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with somatic, body-based practices to support emotional regulation and deeper healing. Because trauma and emotion often live in the body, patterns can show up as anxiety, tension, or cycles that feel difficult to break—even when you understand them.

As a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, I incorporate movement, breathwork, and body awareness into our work together, drawing from practices like dance, qigong, and tai chi. For clients who feel that words alone don’t fully capture their experience, this approach creates space to access and process deeper layers of their story. Through gentle somatic practices and expressive work, you can reconnect with yourself in a more grounded, embodied way—building greater self-awareness, emotional clarity, and capacity for change. Our work often holds a push and pull dynamic. There may be moments where I encourage you outside of your comfort zone—and moments where we slow things down so you can feel supported and steady. There’s space here for both the lighter and heavier parts of your experience, and we’ll move at a pace that challenges you while still feeling contained.

I also recently accepted the position of President of the IL Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association, where I will continue to advance my work grounded in a deep love for movement, culture, and community healing.

*The American Dance Therapy Association defines Dance/Movement Therapy as: “the psychotherapeutic use of dance, movement, body awareness, and embodied communication to foster healing and well-being for all individuals, families and communities (www.adta.org)

Imago Relationship Therapy

In couples and relational work, I draw from Imago Relationship Therapy to help partners—and family members, including parent and adult child relationships—slow down, listen differently, and begin to understand what’s happening beneath the surface of conflict. Often, the same patterns repeat: miscommunication, feeling unseen or misunderstood, or cycles of disconnection that leave both people frustrated or distant. Together, we create space for each person to feel heard in a deeper, more intentional way. Through structured dialogue and guided conversations, you’ll learn how to communicate more clearly, respond rather than react, and build a stronger sense of connection and emotional safety. This process isn’t just about resolving conflict—it’s about understanding the roots of your patterns, increasing empathy, and creating new ways of relating that support growth for everyone involved. Whether you’re navigating challenges in a romantic partnership or working to redefine and repair a parent and adult child relationship, our work focuses on building communication that actually lands, fostering meaningful connection, and supporting relationships that feel more aligned, respectful, and intentional over time.

Experience

I have over a decade of experience working in mental health with the Veterans and Civilians in Chicago and in Puerto Rico. I specialize in PTSD, childhood trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, self-esteem challenges (including body–mind connection), and life transitions (such as immigration or domestic violence). I’m also fully bicultural and bilingual in Spanish. I work with adults and couples.
